One Person Killed In 710 Freeway Crash In Long Beach

A SigAlert was issued after the crash, which was reported just after 6 p.m.

LONG BEACH, CA — One person was killed Thursday evening in a crash on the Long Beach (710) Freeway after going down an embankment in Long Beach.

The crash was reported just after 6 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

A vehicle was reported to have gone down an embankment on the right side of the freeway's northbound lanes and struck a tree, the CHP reported.

The transition road from the northbound Long Beach Freeway to the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway and the Artesia Boulevard off-ramp from the northbound Long Beach Freeway were closed following the collision and a SigAlert was issued, the CHP reported.

All lanes were reopened and the SigAlert canceled at 9:15 p.m., according to the CHP.
