Shooter Fires Into Motorist's Vehicle In Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA — Someone fired a gun into a vehicle in Long Beach but the motorist was not injured, authorities said Sunday.

Officers were dispatched at 5:55 p.m. Saturday to the 2800 block of Seventh Street, near Temple Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Officers contacted a motorist who said his vehicle was struck by gunfire.

"(A) preliminary investigation revealed that a male adult suspect shot at the male adult victim, and gunfire struck the victim's vehicle," according to a police statement. "No injuries were reported."

The motive and circumstances of the shooting were unknown.
