65-Year-Old Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Murdering Roommate

Linda Womack is charged with murdering her 93-year-old roommate Alice Pritchard.

LONG BEACH, CA – A 65-year-old woman, Linda Womack, pleaded not guilty to fatally stabbing her 93-year-old roommate, Alice Pritchard, at a Long Beach assisted-living facility Monday. Womack is charged with murder in the July 24 killing of her roommate.

She was ordered to return to court on Oct. 25, when a date is expected to be set for a preliminary hearing to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.

Police called to investigate a stabbing at the assisted living home at 3100 E. Artesia Blvd. – dubbed The Chateau – found Pritchard with wounds to her upper body. She died at a hospital.

The motive for the stabbing was unknown, police said in a statement issued the day after the attack. Womack is being held on $3.045 million bail at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood.
