$1.5 Million In Stolen Amazon Items, Other Products Seized By LA County Authorities

Los Angeles County authorities recently recovered $1.5 million in stolen cargo, which included dozens of pallets of toys, clothing and items from Amazon.

The LA County sheriff's Cargo Criminal Apprehension Team on Wednesday conducted a search operation in Ontario that stemmed from an investigation into cargo theft, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Authorities seized some $1.5 million in stolen merchandise during the search:

  • 22 pallets of clothing from Modesto-based First Tactical, valued at $1.2 million
  • 21 pallets of Mattel and Fisher-Price toys from Amazon, valued at $250,000
  • Nine pallets of mixed Amazon freight, valid at $100,000

Officials shared photos as part of the announcement of the seizure, which appeared to show the stolen items inside a warehouse.

No arrests were made at the time authorities announced the seizure, though sheriff's officials noted the investigation is ongoing.
