LOS ANGELES, CA — One person suffered critical injuries Thursday morning in a fire at the historic Rosslyn Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Firefighters were called to the hotel at 112 W. Fifth Street just after 9 a.m., and they were able to put out the fire within 15 minutes. The fire had spread in an 11th-floor unit in the building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Sprinklers did much of the work in keeping the blaze in check a fire spokesperson said. The hotel was built in 1923 and has been featured in film and television over the years. It's designated a cultural and historic landmark.
