1 Killed In 405 Freeway Pileup That Triggered 4 Lane Closures
An early morning crash at Wilmington Avenue shut down four lanes, and a 90-minute SigAlert was issued.
CARSON, CA — At least one person died in a pileup n the San Diego (405) Freeway in Carson Monday morning.
The early morning crash happened just before 4:20 a.m. at Wilmington Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash involved a work truck, a sedan, and a pickup truck, the CHP reported. One person may have been ejected in the crash.
Witnesses reported one person lying on the ground where a work truck and sedan were blocking the HOV lane and that another truck was pulled over at the Wilmington Avenue exit.

Drywall and debris from the work truck were strewn hundreds of feet into lanes, the CHP said.
A SigAlert was issued at 5:18 a.m. for the HOV lane and lanes 1, 2 and 3. It was expected to last until about 7 a.m.
