1 Killed In Downtown LA High-Rise Amid Signs Of A Shootout

Detectives are still looking for the shooter who killed a 30-year-old man Sunday.

LOS ANGELES, CA —A man was shot and killed inside a luxury apartment high-rise in downtown Los Angeles Sunday amid signs of a shootout, according to authorities. The killer or killers ramined at large Monday afternoon.

Los Angeles police responded to a report of a shooting at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of West Eighth Street. A 30-year-old man died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds, according to an LAPD dispatcher.

Detectives found shell casings inside one of the apartments indicative of a shootout, Los Angeles Police Department Ryan Rabbett told KTLA. One bullet went into a neighboring unit, but no one else was hurt,he said.

According to LAPD Officers Jeff Lee, there were no arrests made as of Monday afternoon and no suspect descriptions had been released.

Detectives were canvassing security footage in the area for leads.
