1 Killed When Car Plunges Off 405/110 Freeway Transition

A passenger in the vehicle also suffered major injuries.

CARSON, CA — A driver was killed early Monday morning when his vehicle plunged over the side of the San Diego (405) Freeway transition to the Harbor (110) Freeway. A passenger in the vehicle also suffered major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol

The crash occurred on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Carson area shortly after midnight, the CHP reported.

A 39-year-old Lomita man died at the scene, the CHP reported. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives. He was driving with a 38-year-old Inglewood man, who was taken to a hospital for treatment of major injuries, the CHP reported.
