Bike Officer Down In Hit And Run: 10/110 Freeway SigAlert

A motorcycle officer was struck in a hit-and-run crash, according to the LAPD.

LOS ANGELES — A major interchange south of downtown Los Angeles has reopened after a motorcycle officer was injured Thursday afternoon in a hit-and-run crash, according to the LAPD.

The Los Angeles Police Department officer was struck at around 3:20 p.m. on the transition road between the eastbound 10 Freeway and southbound 110 Freeway. The transition road was closed briefly while the officer was treated and transported away from the scene in an ambulance, according to police.

The officer's condition is unknown.

Police said the officer was struck by a Tesla, the driver of which continued south on the 110 Freeway, prompting a search that included a police helicopter.
