105 Freeway SigAlert Cleared After Crews Knock Down Brush Fire
The brush fire alongside the Century/Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Downey was the second fire to shut down the freeway in four days.
DOWNEY, CA — A brush fire burning near the Century/Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Downey prompted the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert Sunday afternoon.
The blaze was reported just before 3 p.m. alongside the eastbound lanes at Lakewood Boulevard where the number 3 lane was temporarily closed so firefighters can put out the brush fire.
By 4 p.m., the CHP declared the roadway clear.

It's the second time since Thursday that a brush fire alongside the 105 Freeway triggered a SigAlert in Los Angeles County. On Thursday morning, a fire alongside the freeway in the West Athens area also forced lane closures..
Both fires remain under investigation.
