110 Freeway Reopens After Pedestrian Fatality

A man was killed early Sunday morning while walking in the northbound lanes of the Harbor (110) Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Harbor (110) Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles reopened Sunday after a man was killed while walking in the lanes early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatality and lane closures came just days after a shooting shut down the same freeway.

At about 4 a.m. Sunday, authorities were called to the northbound side of the freeway south of the Hollywood (101) Freeway, where a man had been struck by a vehicle and killed, according to the CHP. The fatality prompted an hours-long closure of all northbound lanes.

It was not immediately clear why the man was walking on the freeway.

On Thursday, the northbound lanes had also been closed as police investigated a freeway shooting. A driver was shot and wounded at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday while driving in the northbound lanes on the transition from the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway.
