SOUTH EL MONTE, CA — Two children were recovered from the vehicle of a person arrested in connection with a domestic incident and attempted kidnapping after the alleged would-be kidnapper led law enforcement on a chase from Moreno Valley to South El Monte, according to authorities.

Deputies responded around 8 p.m. Saturday to the 25000 block of Sweetgrass Drive in Moreno Valley, where the victim of the attempted kidnapping reported the person who tried to kidnap them had fled, authorities said.

Deputies quickly found the suspect vehicle and tried to stop it, but the vehicle failed to yield, leading law enforcement onto westbound State Route 60, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. A sheriff’s K-9 attempted an intervention and the vehicle ended up disabled near Rosemead Boulevard and Bruin Avenue in South El Monte, authorities said.
