2 Quakes Rattle Los Angeles Area. Did You Feel Them?

The back-to-back quakes struck Thursday afternoon in the Sierra Madre area.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A pair of small earthquakes rattled the Gabriel Valley Thursday afternoon.

The back-to-back quakes struck in the Sierra Madre area starting at 3:08 p.m. with a magnitude 3.2 quake epicenetred 4.2 miles northwest of Monrovia, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was followed a minute later by a magnitude 2.6 temblor northeast of Sierra Madres.

Residents reported feeling the shaking from Santa Barbara to Tijuana, but the hardest impact was reported in the Los Angeles and San Gabriel mountains and valley areas.
