3 Dead, 3 Wounded In Westlake Party Shooting

Police are looking for two shooters who opened fire on a group of youth outside a Westlake party.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Three people were killed and three others were critically wounded when 1 to 2 shooters opened fire outside a party in the Westlake District early Thursday morning. All six victims were men and women in their late teens or early twenties.

Police believe the shooting may be gang related.

“They don’t have any other motive established, so it may be that,” said Meghan Aguilar, an LAPD spokeswoman told the Los Angeles Times.

The shooting was reported at 12:30 a.m. at Second Street and Union Avenue during a house party, said Lt. R. Petillo of the LAPD's Rampart Station. A young man and woman were killed at the scene, and another man died later at a nearby hospital. Two of the surviving victims are in critical condition.

All six victims were standing outside the party when they were shot. The victims reportedly argued with the possible suspects at the party, according to media reports. Police believe there may have been two shooters.
