3 Suspects Flee After LAPD Pursuit Ends In Crash

The driver fled eastbound on foot while two passengers fled westbound, according to the LAPD.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Three suspects fled on foot Saturday after the vehicle they were in crashed during a police pursuit in the Exposition Park area, authorities said.

Officers were initially dispatched at 2:28 a.m. Saturday to a reported street takeover in the area of Western and Vernon avenues, according to Officer Jason Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

A pursuit ensued, ending at 2:57 a.m. when a black BMW crashed at the intersection of 38th Street and Western Avenue. The driver fled eastbound on foot while two passengers fled westbound, according to the LAPD. All three suspects were wearing black clothing, police added.

An ambulance was requested to the scene but no additional information was available on possible injuries, the LAPD said.

No arrests were reported as of late Saturday morning, Lee said.
