4 Days Of Rain: Chance Of Showers, Winter Weather Returns To SoCal
After battering Santa Ana winds, SoCal residents may see scattered showers and a return of cool winter weather in their towns.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Winter weather is making a tentative return across Southern California, after meteorologists forecasted light rain and scattered showers this week and into this weekend.
Light rain showers are expected to may make an appearance in the Southland starting Thursday and continuing into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of rain stems from the tail-end of a powerful system battering Northern California, starting Thursday.
Across Southern California, residents can expect cloud coverage and a 30 percent chance of rain on Thursday. As the storm system approaches from the north, weather service forecasters said residents can also expect some light gust ranging from five to 10 miles per hour until Friday.

As the Santa Ana winds blow out, cool daytime highs will reign. On Friday, the National Weather Service forecasts a high of 62 in downtown Los Angeles, 64 degrees in Laguna Beach and 63 degrees in Temecula and San Diego.
While skies are expected to clear come Friday, meteorologists say the sun won't last for long. The return of cloud cover and light to moderate showers are expected Saturday across the Southland.

Rain totals will likely be on the light side at around a quarter inch possible for Venture and Los Angeles counties, "though under a tenth of an inch is the most likely scenario," NWS officials said.
The chance of rain returns into Monday with another weak system, reports said. The second storm is expected to be stronger than Thursday's with moderate rainfall expected.
