MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – Manhattan Village is currently undergoing a $180 million redevelopment, including four new businesses: two restaurants, a make-up store, and a nail salon, the real estate and investment firm JLL announced Thursday.

The two restaurants added to the village are Joey Manhattan Beach and Urban Plates, both scheduled to open in 2019. Joey Manhattan Beach is a chef-inspired premier casual dining concept. The restaurant will be at the entrance to the center of the Village Shops, according to the press release. Urban Plates features locally, sustainably and ethically sourced ingredients and will be in the Community Center, anchored by Ralph's.

M·A·C (Make-Up Art Cosmetics) will open a retail store adjacent to Apple in the brand new center court area of Manhattan Village, and is scheduled to open later this year, according to the press release. Lastly, Holly and Hudson Nail Lounge will open a store in the newly renovated mall near Victoria’s Secret, scheduled to open later this year.

“These four tenants represent the first of many new dining and retail options that will be joining Manhattan Village as we transform an already successful asset with an excellent line-up of highly desired and successful retailers," said JLL Senior General Manager Don Ziss who oversees day-to-day operations of Manhattan Village. "Our goal is to enhance the shopping experience by making a seamless connection of the entire asset including the interior mall, exterior dining and retail and adjacent community center.”

Manhattan Village is a 44-acre, 573,000 sq. ft. mixed-use center serving the South Bay. The redevelopment will include a 53,300 sq. ft. expansion of open-air retail and restaurant space, adjacent to a fully renovated enclosed shopping center, according to JLL. A new full-service Macy’s will replace the existing two locations and become one consolidated store.

When complete, the new Manhattan Village will be an indoor-outdoor dining and shopping experience "introducing modern luxury and coastal-chic, while embracing the allure and hometown feel of the West Coast lifestyle," according to the press release. The center is already home to several retailers, including: Apple, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Macy's, Sephora, Victoria's Secret, Tommy Bahama, Kiehl's, and California Pizza Kitchen. The project is being developed in phases and is slated for full completion in 2020, according to the press release.
