Actors Richard Schiff, Sheila Kelley Test Positive For COVID-19

LOS ANGELES, CA — Actor Richard Schiff announced Tuesday that he and his wife Sheila Kelley tested positive for coronavirus on Election Day. The pair, who both star on ABC's "The Good Doctor" both tweeted on Tuesday that they were quarantining in Vancouver.

Schiff is an Emmy winner and is known for his quintessential role as White house Communications Director Toby Ziegler on NBC's "The West Wing."

"...This has been the most bizarre week of our lives," Schiff tweeted Tuesday afternoon. "...This is tough. We are determined to find a way to health again. We root for everyone out there who are struggling with this thing. Love from here."

Kelley is known for her roles as Green Taylor on "L.A. Law" and as Dr. Charlotte Bennett Hayes on "Sisters." Kelley currently portrays Debbie Wexler on The Good Doctor, who happens to be Schiff's love interest on the show.

“We‘re quarantined in our home in Vancouver, recovering,” Kelley shared on Instagram. “This virus is a slippery sucker. One minute you feel almost fine and the next you can’t catch your breath. Symptoms change radically daily even hourly.”

"The West Wing" aired from 1999 to 2006 and recently had a special on Oct. 29 in which the actors, almost two decades later, staged a reading of its "Harsfield's Landing" episode, which featured a small town in New Hampshire where every person's vote counts.

Schiff was part of the special, which was meant to encourage viewers that every person's vote still counts in the 2020 election.

It was unclear whether the recent diagnoses would effect planning or filming of "The Good Doctor."
