LOS ANGELES, CA — An Alaska airlines airbus was forced to make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday afternoon at the same time Air Force One landed in Los Angeles.

The flight, which left San Francisco and was headed to San Diego, was diverted to Los Angeles due to a mechanical issue, said Charles Pannunzio, a public relations specialist with LAX. Flight 1948, an Airbus 319, landed safely at 4:01 p.m.

President Donald Trump landed at 4:10 p.m. to kick off an overnight trip to fundraise in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles.
