Amazon Announces Nearly 30,000 New Seasonal Roles Across California

LOS ANGELES, Calif.- October 14, 2025- As the 2025 holiday shopping season approaches, Amazon announced it’s hiring for 250,000 full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles across the United States. This includes nearly 30,000 positions in California.

• Up to 8,000 roles available across Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ontario.
• Up to 3,000 roles available across Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Anaheim.

Seasonal Amazon jobs offer competitive pay, flexible schedules, and the opportunity to be part of the bustling retail industry during its busiest time of year. Seasonal employees can see their pay go up significantly as they grow with the company—for example, someone who’s been with Amazon for three years has already seen their pay increase an average of 18%.

Many seasonal roles also come with the potential to transition into year-round, full-time employment, which include benefits such as health care starting on day one of employment, pre-paid tuition, 401k savings match, paid parental leave, and more.

“I joined Amazon as a seasonal associate because it was one of the few places that welcomed Deaf employees,” says Cynthia Davis, Sortation Associate at LAX5. “That first seasonal role opened the door to new skills, knowledge, and a future I never expected.”

“I was a mom looking for a way to bring in income quickly, and Amazon’s seasonal hiring gave me that chance,” says Sharllet Vizcarra, now a Senior HR Business Partner at SBD6. “A temporary job became a turning point — proof that short-term opportunities can lead to long-term success.”

Amazon also announced new data released from its 2025 Economic Impact Report, highlighting significant investments in both California and communities across the United States. Since 2010:

• Amazon has invested more than $1.5 trillion in the U.S., including infrastructure and compensation to our employees.
• Amazon has invested $218 billion in California, contributing to local economic growth and job creation.
• $221 billion has been added into California’s GDP, in addition to Amazon's direct investments.
• Amazon employs more than 154,000 full-time and part-time employees in California, which has resulted in more than 147,000 indirect jobs supported on top of direct hires across the state.

• According to a joint study by economists at Amazon and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, counties with Amazon facilities see 3,900 additional new direct and indirect jobs compared to similar counties without our presence.
• From 2011 to 2024, Amazon invested more than $184 billion in cloud computing infrastructure, contributing $65 billion to the U.S. GDP and supporting an annual average of 45,800 full-time equivalent jobs.
• Amazon’s data center investments are creating thousands of skilled jobs and career pathways in communities across the nation, including more than $5 billion investments (2011–2024), supporting 1,800 jobs in California.
