With extreme heat warnings in effect and little overnight relief expected, residents are asked to raise thermostats, delay appliance use, and consider cooling centers to help prevent outages.

LA Startup CEO Accused Of $13.3M Fraud, Funding Tesla, Caribbean Wedding (patch.com) β Los Angeles readers are learning that the Inglewood-based CEO of tax-tech startup ComplYant App Inc. is accused of defrauding investors of more than $13 million and diverting funds to personal luxuries. Federal prosecutors say she will appear in downtown Los Angeles federal court on securities, wire, bank fraud and money laundering charges tied to the now-shuttered LA company.
