2. Largest-Ever Animal Rescue Operation In LA County Leads To 35 Charges (patch.com) — Los Angeles County prosecutors have filed 35 felony and misdemeanor charges against an Antelope Valley woman after more than 300 animals were seized from a Lake Hughes property in what officials call the county's largest companion-animal rescue operation. The March raid strained LA County's already crowded shelter system, prompting emergency transfers of dogs from local shelters, including Downey, to free up space for the rescued animals.

Two additional patrons reported irritation from the spray and were treated at a local hospital, while the suspect was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.
