Mayor Karen Bass' office is condemning the renewed blight as county health officials prepare another investigation and a criminal case continues over whether a conservator should take control of the Los Angeles property.

Samuel Brown Dies in Los Angeles Pedestrian Accident at Hollywood Blvd and Cherokee Ave. (pacificattorneygroup.com) β A 33-year-old pedestrian, Samuel Brown, was killed while legally crossing Hollywood Boulevard at Cherokee Avenue in Los Angeles when a suspected DUI driver struck him Sunday night. Authorities arrested 39-year-old Esmeralda Diaz, who is being held on DUI-related charges with bail set at over $2 million, as investigators continue examining the circumstances near the busy Hollywood Walk of Fame area.

4. $50K reward offered amid search for suspect in deadly South LA hit-and-run (nbclosangeles.com) β Los Angeles residents are being urged to help identify the driver who fatally struck 83-year-old community leader Akil Saud Batani-Khalfani near Central Avenue and 69th Street in South Los Angeles, then fled. Mayor Karen Bass has authorized a $50,000 reward under the city's Hit-and-Run Reward Program, and police are asking anyone with information to contact Central Traffic Division or Crime Stoppers.

Armin van Buuren Announces Two-Day ASOT LA Festival (edmhousenetwork.com) β Los Angeles will host the first-ever two-day A State of Trance festival in the U.S. on June 11β12, 2027, at ACE*MISSION Studios, with a dedicated ASOT Hotel weekend planned nearby. Registration for tickets and hotel packages is already open, though the lineup and full schedule will be announced later, giving LA trance fans plenty of time to plan.
