Army Conducts Drills Across Los Angeles Throughout The Week

Don't be alarmed if you see a seeming military invasion of the streets of Los Angeles this week.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Don't fret if you see soldiers, choppers or camouflaged Humvee's in a seeming invasion of Los Angeles this week. It's not a coup. It's just a drill.

The U.S. Army began a weeklong series of training drills Monday in the Los Angeles and Long Beach areas. The drills are scheduled to last until Saturday. Especially near places where the drills will take place, residents may hear loud noises. However. the Army took pains to notify people living closest to the drill locations, officials said.

"Residents may hear sounds associated with the training, including aircraft and weapon simulations," according to an Army statement.
