HUNTINGTON PARK, CA — A barricade situation in Huntington Park has concluded with the arrest of a suspect and the neighborhood has been deemed safe, authorities said Sunday.

An assault with a deadly weapon suspect had been barricaded in a residence in the 2500 block of Santa Ana Street since 2:42 a.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The department's Special Enforcement Bureau said the man was considered armed.

The suspect was taken intro custody "after a few hours and many verbal attempts by LASD deputies and SEB Tactical Team," authorities said.
