WEST COVINA, CA — A big rig overturned near the 10 Freeway in West Covina, dumping a huge shipment of Modelo beer into the road below.
Hundreds of cases of beer blocked traffic, shutting down both the east and westbound lanes of North Garvey Avenue. The solo-vehicle crash happened just before 8 a.m., and the road remained closed indefinitely while crews worked to clean up the mess.
It was unclear what caused the truck to overturn or whether it had traveled down an embankment off the freeway or up and embankment from the underpass.
