Australia and International up-and-comer Benny Sinclair is taking over L.A. in the coming weeks and we're excited to have him on this side of the pond. The buzzworthy Hip Hop artist who has been on our radar for the second half of 2019, jumps into the New Year with style...and boy are we intrigued by his gutsy music and real Hip Hop sounds. Benny Sinclair sat down with us in December as he shares his plans and goals for 2020, as he reflects on 2019. Dive in!

1. Gearing up for some potential U.S. dates in the New Year, have you ever played on this side of the pond?
I’ve never performed in the U.S but I'm looking forward to embracing the opportunity sometime soon. I’m flying out to L.A in January to work on some new music with ‘Round 2 Entertainment’ and DJ Bobby B. I’ll be focusing on recording Dope new tracks with them & hoping things will really take off.

2. Overall, what are your favorite venues to play? Where do you connect with fans the most?
I love playing to large crowds & as long as the place has a cool Vibe & feeling my music, I’m happy. Nothing beats the fans singing, rapping & dancing along to my tracks. I feel I connect best when the DJ plays a break & I get a chance to freestlye!
3. When creating songs, what inspirations and aspirations did you have in mind?
What was the backing behind the story you wanted to portray on the new record?
I love my music especially my Hip Hop. My songs are inspired by my life experiences & a blend of ideas I get when listening to my favourite artists. I’m aspiring to bring this LP to the World to be recognized & respected among the best in the game. My latest LP ‘Assumptions’ has a slightly darker undertone to my previous LP’s. I mix up my flows on every track & we worked on a good variety of beats to keep the record interesting. I wrote tracks that inspire, get you moving, get you thinking & make you smile!
4. On a personal note, which song that you've written would you say is your favorite, or the one that speaks the most to you?
Given I’m an ex-professional Boxer & run a small Boxing Gym in Melbourne It’s ‘Nothing Comes Easy’. I’ve had many fighters tell me how much they can relate to the track & how the lyrics inspired them before their fights! I love the way the video turned out & the fighters from one of the strongest Boxing stables in Melbourne, Labruna Gym did a great job!
5. On the new songs, who are the key players that made the record happen?
The key players are my producers who I have worked with particularly Jase Beathedz, who mixed the LP with me at all hours of the day/night. It was cool working with Jhay C, who works in L.A regularly, Double OO from Florida and my friends Elvis Aljus, Alfrd, Mr.Leigh & Dj Rellik all from Melbourne.
6. Do you self-produce or use an outside studio? Can you walk us through the process of either?
I have my own studio & produce tracks there as well as my producers studios. I worked with 7 different producers over this LP. Sometimes they send through beats that they think will work for me, more often we meet in the studio together & work on the ideas, it varies from track to track. It’s important that I let the music speak to me, before trying to make the ideas fit. Sometimes I hear a beat and a brand new idea comes to mind. I’m always in the studio working with my producers ensuring I have an influence on my sound!
7. With 2020 upon us, what surprises do you have in store?
2020 will be a big year for me! ‘Assumptions’ is my favourite LP to date & hoping it will continue to get the exposure & air play over radio stations throughout the year! Ill be back in the studio working on my next LP which will be titled ‘The Best’. l’m looking forward to working with ‘Round 2 Entertainment’ & Dj Bobby B, who works with some well known rappers including Suga Free. I’m looking to continue to collaborate with artists/producers & all going to plan perform at some big shows & tour.
