Best Adjustable Dumbbells Set

Best Adjustable Dumbbells Set

Are you looking for reviews of the best adjustable dumbbells? If so, you have come to the right place.

The problem I had when I decided to train with dumbbells was where was I going to put all those weights.

If you have ever been to a gym, you will see that long row of dumbbells up against the mirror. The weights would range from 10lbs all the way up to about 200lbs. Not that I need all that, however, it was available. Now imagine having all that in your home. I don't know about you, but I don't have that much square footage.

In the list below, I have listed out a few products that I have tested.

Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells - With The Unique Dial System
The Bowflex SelectTech dumbbells have what you call a dial up system. All you have to do is turn the dial to select the weight the you want. It has an innovative adjustable weight system.

These dumbbells take up less than 10% of the space a regular dumbbell set would. These weights feel the same as a regular pair of dumbbells but they look different. They have a nice grip on them.

The Bowflex dumbbells allow you to have a whole set of dumbbells in the space of a corner. You get a five year warranty of the plates and two year warranty of the parts. You can't beat that.

This is the brand that I chose because of price, brand, sleek design and the number of favorable reviews it received. And, I am not disappointed

You can get them in a pair or just a single too.

PowerBlock Adjustable Dumbbells - The Most Versatile and Effective Workout Tool

PowerBlocks have been around since 1993. They provide the best compact design for easy lifting. They have great balance with strong weight selection mechanism.

You can purchase they in different styles of weight plates, including steel and urethane. Some of the sets are expandable sets which means you can add weight plates in increments.

The PowerBlocks have the heaviest weight sets on the market. You can get them in weights up to 130lbs each. The top units can replace up to 37 pairs of dumbbells.

This is a top rated brand that was a close runner.

Ironmaster Adjustable Dumbbells - With The Quick Lock Design

The Ironmaster Quick-lock dumbbell system includes 2 adjustable handles and a storage rack. This is the only set that I know of that comes with a rack.

This set can be adjusted from 5 lbs to 75 lbs each. You get a variety of weight plates to chose from.

However, the weight selection isn't as smooth and sleek as the Bowflex.

It is not the prettiest to look at but it is solid.

The Ironmaster is a solid system and built to last. The great thing about the Ironmaster is that it has a lifetime warranty (I didn't know companies still offered these). There is no plastic parts to break or rubber to wear out.

If you are looking for a professional grade product, check out the Ironmaster.

Bayou Fitness Adjustable Dumbbells - Save Space With Clever Design

The Bayou Fitness adjustable dumbbells are made of heavy duty, chrome plated metal. They each have a tray for them to be stored in (not a rack).

The weights adjust in 10 lbs increments. However, you can go smaller but the weights will feel unbalanced.

This is a good quality, nice looking set. It has only received good reviews. It is probably the cheapest 50 lbs dumbbells with this quality.

Weider Adjustable Dumbbells - Works Like a Stack of Weights

The Weider name has big in the bodybuilding industry for years. With the Weider SpeedWeight 100 set, you can get an entire gym in one set with these weights.

This brand does offer small sets (which you will see a link below). But their top system is the SpeedWeight 100.

It comes with a stand to keep your weights elevated. I like it because you can switch from one weight to the other very quickly. They also give you 3 DVD's of workouts (which is nice if you don't have a routine).

Dumbbell Racks and Stands - And Dumbbell Set With Rack

Do you need a dumbbell rack for your weights? The answer is not necessarily. I like having a dumbbell rack because make lifting easy.

I like to have my weights elevated wherein I don't have to bend over to pick them up. This is a personal preference and one that many others have chosen.

There are some dumbbell sets that come with racks and some that you have to purchase separately.
