Beverly Hills Manhunt On For Driver Who Tried To Run Over A Cop

The Beverly Hills Police Department urged residents to stay indoors and avoid the area around Linden Drive and Wilshire Boulevard Tuesday.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A manhunt was underway Tuesday night in Beverly Hills, where at least one suspect allegedly attempted to run down an officer before abandoning the car and fleeing on foot.

Police established a perimeter and were searching the area around Linden Drive and Wilshire Boulevard at about 9 p.m.

"Police are actively searching for suspects in the area of Wilshire and Linden," the Beverly Hills Police Department said in a written release. "We are asking residents to please stay inside their homes while we search the area."

KCAL9 first reported that a Beverly Hills Police Department officer attempted to pull over a driver, who, instead, attempted to run over the officer. After a short pursuit, at least one suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police did not immediately say what led the officer to pull over the driver. They also did not release a description of the suspects.
