Biker Killed In 605 Freeway Crash

The fatal wreck occurred when a motorcyclist riding with a group reportedly crashed into the back of a jeep Sunday.

PICO RIVERA, CA — A man riding a motorcycle died in a crash on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Pico Rivera, authorities said Monday.

The crash occurred about 8:15 p.m. Sunday on the northbound 605 Freeway at Rose Hills Road, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Kravig said.

A news videographer at the scene said the motorcyclist crashed into the back of a Jeep truck while riding with other motorcyclists.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 8:27 p.m. for the northbound 605 at Rose Hills, involving the HOV lane and lanes 1, 2 and 3 while leaving the slow lane open to traffic. The lanes were reopened at 11:30 p.m.
