Brush Fire Scorches 5 Acres In Lake Elsinore
Firefighters faced dense brush and heavy fuel conditions.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A brush fire burned five acres in Lake Elsinore Sunday afternoon before it was contained, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the scene of a vegetation fire near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Strickland Avenue. The blaze broke out shortly at about 1 p.m. and had scorched five acres by 2 p.m., according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokesperson Maggie De La Rosa. Crews had the blazed contained shortly before 6 p.m.Sunday.
The fire shut down roads in the area while crews worked to contain the blaze.

As of about 2:30 p.m., crews had zero percent containment. There were no immediate reports of evacuations or threat to structures.
