Brush Fire Scorches A Half Acre Near Trump Golf Course
Los Angeles firefighters quickly put out the grass fire in San Pedro Thursday afternoon.
SAN PEDRO, CA — Firefighters made quick work of a small brush fire in the San Pedro area Thursday afternoon not far from the Trump National Golf Club in Palos Verdes.
The fire scorched less than a half-acre in the 1900 block of West Cumbre Drive shortly after 2 p.m. Crews arrived on scene to find visible flames and smoke billowing into the sky, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire bordered the Deane Dana Friendship Park and nature Center. Crews put out the fire within about 20 minutes and remained on the scene to mop up hotspots.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
