Burglar At Large After Evading SWAT Team In Koreatown

Residents arrived to find their home burglarized, and the LAPD called in a SWAT Team, believing the suspect was still in the area.

LOS ANGELES, CA —A burglary suspect managed to evade police despite an hours-long manhunt in Koreatown Tuesday, and the suspect remains at large, police warned Wednesday.

The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 4500 block of West Second Street, near Western Avenue. Residents called police to report that they returned home to find several doors opened and their home burglarized, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im.

Believing the suspect may still be on the scene, officers from the department's SWAT team set up a perimeter around the home and used K-9 units to search for the burglar. The standoff ended at about 8:37 p.m. when the SWAT Team cleared the area without finding the suspect.
