LOS ANGELES, CA — As the saying goes, 'the party never ends,' and if that is true, a space in the mausoleum crypt with Hugh Hefner and Marilyn Monroe might just be worth the $200,000 to $400,000 it's expected to nab at an upcoming auction.

The final resting place near the Hollywood icons is being auctioned along with 1,000 items linked to Monroe and Hefner, including Hefner's famous smoking jackets and a gown Monroe wore in a dream sequence filmed for the "Seven Year Itch," that was ultimately cut from the movie, according to Julien's Auctions, which is hosting the event.

The three-day auction titled "Property from the Playboy Archives and the Hugh M. Hefner Foundation, and Property from the Life and Career of Marilyn Monroe," will be held March 28-30, in Los Angeles.

More than 1,000 items will be auctioned from Monroe's property and the Playboy Archives, including an original “Playboy Bunny” Silkscreen by Andy Warhol.

"Explore a treasure trove of art and memorabilia from the Playboy Archives, a collection that embodies the provocative and trendsetting spirit of the iconic magazine," according to auction organizers. "Discover exquisite artwork and rare photographs that capture an era defined by sophistication and liberation."

The mausoleum crypt is located in the Corridor of Memories at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Mortuary. It is Wall B, Space C-3 one row up and four spaces left of Monroe's crypt, to which fans make pilgrimages more than 60 years after her death. Monroe was the first cover model of Playboy magazine, and Hefner purchased the crypt left of Monroe's. He was interred after his death in 2017, at 91.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Hefner once said, "Spending eternity next to Marilyn is an opportunity too sweet to pass up."

Advance registration is required to participate in the auction. Visit JuliensAuctions.com for details.
