CASTAIC, CA — America’s best Indian restaurant is a hidden gem in Southern California, according to a recent ranking from Yelp.

The Top 100 Indian Restaurants in the U.S., According to Yelp Reviewers ranking named LA Indian Cuisine in Castaic as No. 1. The Golden State as a whole dominated the list, with 10 restaurants, including five in the top 10.

Located near a truck stop off Interstate 5, LA Indian Cuisine has over 500 five-star reviews, offering customers free chai as they peruse a menu including classic standouts such as butter chicken or chicken tikka masala and a wide array of vegetarian options, according to Yelp.

Other top-ranked restaurants included Mumbai House in Park City, Utah, at No. 2 and Zen Curry and Grill in Temecula at No. 3.

The rankings were based on factors including review volume and ratings, with the number of businesses per state capped at 10, according to Yelp, which noted that Indian cuisine has become increasingly popular, with searches for “Indian food buffet near me” up 437 percent in 2026.
