In person: production designer Arthur Max, set decorator Clay Griffith
Two policemen (Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman) investigate a series of brutal killings inspired by the seven deadly sins in this stylish and chilling mystery that helped establish acclaimed music video director David Fincher as a major feature filmmaker. Fincher worked with an expert team to bring this grim story to life, including cinematographer Darius Khondji (Evita, 1996), composer Howard Shore (The Silence of the Lambs, 1991), Oscar-nominated film editor Richard Francis-Bruce (The Shawshank Redemption, 1994) and production designer Arthur Max (Gladiator, 2000), a four-time Oscar nominee who used claustrophobic interior sets and Southern California locations to create a nightmarish urban America.
