18th Street Arts Center announces In The After, a multidisciplinary, community-centered initiative bringing together artists, residents, and community members to explore creative pathways toward healing, resilience, and restoration in the wake of the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. The initiative begins Saturday, July 11 with a FREE Communal Launch event at 18th Street Arts Center in Santa Monica and runs through December 2027. Wildfires in Pacific Palisades and Altadena reshaped communities across California in 2025, leaving behind not only devastated landscapes but also profound emotional and cultural impacts. Over a year later, healing is still taking place. In The After responds to this moment by centering storytelling, art-making, and shared experience as essential tools for recovery. Through workshops, public art projects, and community gatherings, the initiative amplifies the voices of those directly affected while fostering connection and collective care.
