Two drag queens and a transgender woman drive across the Australian outback in a tour bus named Priscilla, in this wild road comedy that earned Lizzy Gardiner and Tim Chappell Oscars for their imaginative costume designs. Terence Stamp gives an impressive change-of-pace performance as the world-weary Bernadette, and he’s matched by Hugo Weaving as the trio’s conflicted leader. Guy Pearce delivers a breakout performance as the youngest of the group. Deftly mixing campy humor and genuine emotion amidst stunning locations, Priscilla was an international success and spawned a hit stage musical.
