Accessible screening
On the last Saturday of every month, the museum's Family Matinee is an accessible screening where we offer open captioning, keep the theater dimly lit, and maintain a lower volume for viewers who are neurodiverse.
They walk among us, often appearing as ordinary women, but when one notices those purple eyes, gloved hands, and keen smell for children, it can mean only one thing: a witch. Luke, an orphaned 9-year-old, is vacationing in a seaside hotel with his grandma. So is an undercover witch convention. After the Grand High Witch turns Luke into a mouse, he finds himself scurrying to save the rest of the world’s children from a similar fate. This wicked tale, adapted from Roald Dahl’s children’s novel of the same name,... features the work of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop in the iconic and terrifying reveal of the witches' true forms, and an unforgettable performance by Anjelica Huston as the Grand High Witch.
