Calm Morning: Haunting Props and Set Decorating

Calm Morning: Haunting Props and Set Decorating

Our next Calm Mornings program is on Saturday, October 31, from 9am to 1pm, with early gallery access at 9am and a 10am family workshop. ASL interpretation is provided.

9–10am | Early Gallery Access

Explore the new exhibition Zombies! on Level 4. Sound and lighting adjustments provide a more sensory-friendly experience.

10am–1pm | Family Workshop

Visit the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the Lower Level for a frightfully fun workshop full of prop-making and set decorating, all inspired by our Family Matinees film series and the day's Accessible Screening of The Witches (1990).

Families can usher in Halloween by decorating their own witchy set in front of our green screen, and then take a quick video in the world they... create together.

In addition to the Calm Mornings program, we encourage visitors to attend our accessible, open-caption screening of The Witches at 11am in the Ted Mann Theater. The screening is part of our weekly Family Matinees series. A separate ticket is required.

The Shirley Temple Education Studio remains open during this screening as a space for relaxation and artmaking until 1pm.
