California Weather Update: Photos Show Severe Mudslides And Rainfall

12 photos show that while the rain has stopped, the misery has not.

LOS ANGELES — Californians are finally getting a break after three weeks of relentless storms, but flood waters are still going down and mudslides are expected to continue as saturated hillsides give way. ACE commuter trains from the Central Valley to Fremont were stopped in Niles Canyon on both Tuesday and Wednesday because of mudslides.

AP News reported that 10 homes were evacuated in Berkeley on Monday after a sodden hillside collapsed sending a dangerous mudslide onto properties.

One of the most significant storms of the season hit Big Bear Mountain Ski resort, with 17" of snow over the last two days in Big Bear Lake, California on Sunday.
