The City of Los Angeles and Council President Pro Tempore Nury Martinez proudly presents El Grito Los Angeles 2019 in Downtown Los Angeles on the steps of City Hall and Grand Park on Sunday, Sept. 15th, starting at 5 p.m. El Grito de Dolores marks the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence and is celebrated each year on September 15th. This free community event will mark the 80th such celebration in Los Angeles. This year’s family-friendly festivities will include performances by the legendary and Grammy-Award winning band, Los Tigres Del Norte along with performances by Banda La Maravillosa, La Mera Candelaria, Las Colibri, and Ballet Folklorico Ollin. In addition the fetivities will also include delicious food, art vendors curated by Mujeres Market, a giant Ferris wheel, carnival activities, face-painting, piñata-making and lotería for the kids.
