Salvador Montes joins HNTB as project manager in Los Angeles

Seasoned transit planner brings more than 14 years of experience on major Metro and Metrolink projects
HNTB Corporation welcomes Salvador Montes as project manager for transportation and environmental planning in the firm’s Los Angeles office. In this role, he will manage and deliver planning and multidisciplinary transportation projects for clients including the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink), California Department of Transportation, Riverside County Transportation Commission and San Bernardino County Transportation Authority.
“Salvador has helped move some of the region’s most important transit and rail projects from early planning to delivery,” said Yoga Chandran, PhD, PE, GE, HNTB Los Angeles office leader and senior vice president. “His ability to guide complex projects through every phase, alongside our agency partners, will strengthen the support we provide to our clients and the communities they serve.”

Most recently, as deputy program manager for Metro, he provided program leadership for the design and procurement of the agency’s multibillion-dollar fleet electrification and infrastructure program.
Montes holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a bachelor’s degree in geography and geographic information systems (GIS) from Northeastern Illinois University.
