Courageous CA Cat Fights Off 3 Coyotes Outside His Home

The heroic cat, Max, was filmed by a security camera fending off three coyotes outside his home — while his owners were inside, unaware.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The owner of a courageous house cat is "still shocked" days after her cat, Max, was filmed by a home security camera fending off three coyotes outside his home in Los Angeles.

The owner, Maya Gurrin, told reporters she was watching a movie with her husband when she saw a "shadow of a tail" outside their Highland Park home, television news station KTRE reported. After rushing outside, Gurrin saw a trio of coyotes surrounding Max and managed to chase them off.

It wasn't until later, when Gurrin watched surveillance footage of the encounter, that she realized Max had been fending off the predators himself, lunging at them and forcing one to hop onto a wall in self-defense, as seen in the video shared with KTRE.
