Drug Deal Gone Wrong Led To Rossmoor Shootout: OCSD
One of the wounded gunmen was released from the hospital to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. All parties face potential charges.
ROSSMOOR, CA — A drug deal gone wrong ended with a shootout in Rossmoor over the weekend, and the gunmen face charges, the Orange County Sheriff's Department announced Monday.
Two men suspected of attempted robbery and attempted murder were hospitalized with bullet wounds Saturday, said Orange County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Mike Woodroof. One of the suspects, Matthew David Salanoa, 30, has since been released from the hospital and is being held on suspicion of attempted robbery and attempted murder, Woodroof added.
Gunfire erupted in the quiet Rossmoor neighborhood shortly after 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 11000 block of Loch Lomond Road.

"It turns out that it was a drug deal gone wrong," said Woodroof. "Two suspects turned up at the residence in what turned out to be a failed robbery on their part, and they were shot."
Authorities arrived on the scene and confiscated multiple guns, money and narcotics, according to the sheriff's department.

The investigation remains ongoing and two other men at the home, who were involved in the shootout, face potential narcotics-related charges, said Woodfruff.
