East LA School On Lockdown While Police Search For Gunman
A man with a gun was spotted near Esteban Torres High School Friday morning.

EAST LOS ANGELES, CA — An East Los Angeles high school was placed on lockdown Friday morning after a gunman was reported in the area. Police found the gun and are now searching for the man.
Police are searching the area around Esteban Torres High School. They believe a suspect dumped a gun in a yard across the street from the school.
A witness flagged down an officer shortly before 9 a.m. The resident said she saw a person with a gun near the school, according to Sergeant Julie Spry of the Los Angeles Unified School District's Police Department.
