Fatal Crash Snarls 710 Freeway
The southbound lanes of the Long Beach (710) Freeway were shutdown early Monday morning due to a fatal crash.
LONG BEACH, CA — A fatal crash shutdown the southbound lanes of the Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach Monday morning.
One person was killed in the crash, which occurred at about 5:30 a.m. at Anaheim Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash shutdown all southbound lanes heading into the morning rush hour while the CHP investigated.
Shortly before 7 a.m. two southbound lanes were reopened, according to the CHP.

Authorities did not immediately release information about the identity of the person killed. They also did not say what caused the crash.
