Fireworks In Los Angeles July 4th 2020 Canceled: See Area Events

LOS ANGELES, CA — Independence Day in Los Angeles will not look the same this year, thanks to the coronavirus.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health nixed live fireworks shows throughout the county — leaving the closest displays in Riverside, Orange and San Diego counties — and those are only a handful and come with viewing restrictions. Cancellations also were announced this week in Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead, although Lake Arrowhead plans to proceed with a flyover.

But the patriotic spirit persists, nonetheless, throughout the area and Greater L.A., as several communities are hosting live aerial flyovers, virtual fireworks and parades, decorating contests and fun, Independence Day activities to do from home. Grand Park + Music Center has a virtual block party in the works.
