A traveler tried to sneak a smoke in the bathroom of a Southwest jet headed to LAX, forcing the plane to divert to San Jose.

LOS ANGELES, CA — How do you make 32 strangers instantly loathe you? Sneak a smoke in an airplane bathroom, forcing the passenger plane to be diverted from Los Angeles to San Jose.
A Southwest flight to Los Angeles had to be diverted Wednesday when a marijuana smoker was caught sneaking a few puffs in the jet's bathroom, and 32 of his fellow passengers found themselves stuck in San Jose until new travel plans could be arranged, according to the airline.
“It looked like that someone needed to smoke a joint on a plane, and he went into the bathroom, smoked his blunt, and set off the fire alarm,” passenger Jonathan Burkes told CBS.
