Alex Sachs is a former college professor in Financial Economics, and a Transfer Pricing tax professional who has another talent, his work in creative writing and storytelling which he has decided to pursue with utmost dedication, stating, “Most my prior writings are of a technical, professional nature, but I have always had a love for creative writing and storytelling.” His first screenplay Rota Romantica and his novel Verona represent his foray into the fiction world.

Sachs states, “I wrote my screenplay Rota Romantica during the pandemic after being stuck at home streaming a number of movies online. I was feeling disappointed by much of what I was watching and honestly, felt that I could do a better job. I then reflected on my personal work experience and decided to draw on those experiences when writing this script about a powerful love story. I think that love, true genuine love, is the greatest force in the universe. And I wondered whether ‘love at first sight’ does really exist, and if it does ‘what would it look like’, hence my decision to write this script.”

Alex Sachs describes his script as a story about “a solid family man, who is at the top of his profession as a successful tax attorney, when he meets a woman who he perceived to be the most beautiful and intelligent lady at work, and after being swept off his feet by her, he decides to trade it all for this woman of his dreams. Unfortunately, she has a lot to lose too by pursuing the relationship and initially spurns his advances.”

Will this tax attorney’s gamble ultimately pay off, or will he lose everything, including her?
Sach’s concluding, “I hope to convey that true love does still exist.”

His first novel, Verona, was written a decade ago, a fictional story based on a philandering professor who has finally met his match. Verona will be adapted into a forthcoming screenplay as well.

Will the protagonist in the story choose to change into a better man or will he continue with his philandering ways. What will it take for him to finally decide to change his ways? Sachs recalls how writing this novel sparked his interest in writing fiction, which led him to write the screenplay Rota Romantica in the first place. The protagonist in this screenplay Rota Romantica is a man that is very different from the character in the novel Verona.

Sachs, after having written many non-fiction works for his career, felt inspired to write fiction again and this led to Alex Sachs completing the screenplay for Rota Romantica. “I loved writing this story and I feel that it is one that will inspire many to seek the high road consisting of empathy, kindness, maintaining integrity and honesty, as well as confronting personal truths in one’s life, and how this affects the lives of others.”

Alex Sachs is seeking a literary agent with a focus on garnering the right representation for his screenplays. “I have a full repertoire of story ideas that I’m currently working on, from uncompromising love stories to corporate and political conspiracies. I find inspiration from many sources and areas. I like stories that are both moving and realistic that the viewers can readily identify with.”

Does Alex Sachs wish to focus on his work as a screenwriter and focus on this as a new career where he can write all of the stories that he has in mind? The answer is a resounding yes. Sachs concludes, “I definitely would like to make screenwriting a full-time career. I like reading things that display great creativity and imagination but are also very possible in the real world. I also like watching movies and series with wonderful plots. If the story isn’t great, then the show won’t be either, so it’s all about the story first in my opinion.”
